On inhaling this drug, it rapidly dilates all arterioles an capillaries, producing flushings of face, heat, and throbbing in the head.–Superficial arterial hyperemia<\/strong>. Palpitation of the heart and similar conditions are readily cured by it, especially the flushings and other discomforts at climacteric.\u00a0Hiccough and yawning<\/em>. Often relieves temporarily epileptic convulsions. Seasickness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Head.–<\/strong>Anxiety<\/em>, as if something might happen;\u00a0must have fresh air<\/em>.\u00a0Surging of blood to head and face<\/em>; sensation as if blood would start through skin, with heat and redness.\u00a0Flushings, followed by sweat at climacteric<\/em>. Ears hyperemi<\/strong>c. Throbbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throat.–<\/strong>Constriction; collar seems too tight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chest.–<\/strong>Dyspn\u015ba and asthmatic feelings. Great oppression and fullness of chest; spasmodic, suffocative cough. Pr\u0107cordial anxiety. Tumultuous action of heart<\/em>. Pain and constriction around heart. Fluttering at slightest excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Female.–<\/strong>After-pains; h\u0107morrhage associated with facial flushing. Climacteric headache and flushes of heat, with anxiety and palpitation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Fever.–<\/strong>Much flushing of heat; sometimes followed by cold and clammy skin and profuse sweat. Throbbing throughout whole body. Abnormal sweat after influenza<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Extremities.–<\/strong>Constant stretching for hours<\/em>. Veins of hands dilated; pulsations felt in tips of fingers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Relationship.–<\/strong>Compare: Glonoine; Lachesis<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Antidotes: Cactus; Strychn; Ergot<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dose.–<\/strong>Third potency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For palliations<\/em>. In all conditions where the blood-vessels are spasmodically contracted<\/em>, as in angina pectoris, epileptic seizure, megrim, accompanied by cold, pallor, etc, also in paroxysms of asthma, chloroform asphyxia, inhalation of the Amyl nit<\/em> will give immediate relief.
